  1. Exhibit: Photographs by Jeannette Ferrary

    October 24 - December 5 @ Art Gallery, 1st Floor

Jeannette Ferrary's interest in sense of place permeates these images from the streets of San Francisco in which she attempts to capture the people, emotions, the everyday life situations that make one neighborhood so distinctive from another. Playfulness and humor as well as empathy and concern are evident in these photographs which express Ferrary's delight in the ephemeral, ineffable beauty of the moment. An exhibition of her New York street photography, "You tawkin' ta me? Photographs from the Sidewalks of New York," was shown at The Museum of the City of New York. Her work will be exhibited in the First Floor Art Gallery of the Library from October 24 – December 5, 2014.

  2. Exhibit: Pottery by Jorge Amado

    November 7 - December 17 @ 2nd Floor Display Case

Jorge Amado, a local potter, comes from an artistic family and has dabbled in poetry, painting and music. He found his passion in pottery studying at the College of San Mateo. Pottery is his means of expressing himself—recreating images from life, imagination and nature. He uses the potter’s wheel then alters and carves the pieces along with various glazes. Please visit his exhibit at the Second Floor Display Case at the Main Library from November 7 through December 17, 2014.
