Fleur Spolidor's acrylic paintings reflect her thoughts about femininity and history. Her research into the real events she portrays leads her to give special attention to detail. She plays with colors, patterns and mythology to support the psychology of her fantastical scenes. Fleur Spolidor's work will be on exhibited in the San Mateo Public Library First Floor Gallery from May 1, 2013 through June 13, 2013.

The story takes place on Christmas Eve in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Middle-aged has-been Gin, aging transvestite Hana, and teenage runaway Miyuki are homeless friends who have formed a makeshift family structure bond. That bond is tested when they find an abandoned baby while searching for food in a trash dumpster. They try to care for the infant themselves while traveling throughout the city in search of the baby’s parents. In Japanese with English subtitles.
