City Hall Art Displays

  1. City Hall Gallery: Iain Neillands - Oil Paintings

July 28 - September 10 @ City Hall Gallery Hallway
    330 West 20th Ave
    San Mateo, CA 94403

Born in California and raised in San Mateo County, artist Iain Neillands took up painting at age 19 after visiting the Modern Art Museum in Edinburgh, Scotland. Iain was so smitten by the Impressionist paintings that he undertook the task of learning to paint on his own. The paintings on display were done in the last five years. They will be exhibited in the City Hall Art Gallery from July 28 through September 10, 2014.

  2. City Hall Atrium: Ginger Kong - 3D Printing Exhibit

August 15 - September 24 @ City Hall Atrium Display Case
    330 West 20th Ave
    San Mateo, CA 94403

  1. Exhibit: Pastel Drawings by Elvira Dayel

    July 24 - September 8 @ Art Gallery, 1st Floor

Elvira Dayel is exhibiting her vivid pastel drawings. Her work alternates between being purely conceptual and cerebrally surreal. It has its own language, done in pastels with a rich color palette in a large, powerful format. Her drawings are idea driven--sometimes suggestive or daring, but always open-ended. Her drawings will be on exhibit at the Main Library First Floor Art Gallery from July 24 through September 8, 2014.

  2. Exhibit: Pottery by Scott Shaffer

    August 13 - September 18 @ Display Case, 2nd Floor

Scott Shaffer’s pottery is now on display in the Second Floor Display Case at the Main Library. Scott uses a wide variety of firing techniques, finishes and added articles in his pottery. His work often has a story behind it—the piece in the photo was originally broken and out of the broken pieces, Scott made a new work of art that rises from the pieces of the original. Come enjoy Scott’s exhibit from August 13 through September 18, 2014.
