The City of San Mateo Parks and Recreation Department is a great resource for parents looking to enrich their children’s lives. Whatever strikes your child’s fancy, we probably have it. From karate to guitar lessons, we have one of the most comprehensive and diverse offerings on the Peninsula.

While fun is key, it is not our only focus.  Your child can explore new things and expand his horizons in creative, safe and non-competitive environments.

The Parks and Recreation Department has also designed several after-school programs and summer programs that allow your child to learn, have fun and give you peace of mind that she is well-cared for while you are at work.
