Make Your Voice Heard

The City actively seeks to include residents’ voices in decision making, from creating new policy to developing and implementing City programs and services.

Public Comment at City Council Meetings
Any member of the public can speak during the public comments portion of each City Council meeting. Read this guide to Council meetings for information on how to have your voice heard at the next meeting, and find out when the next meeting will be held.

Community Meetings
The City holds community meetings to gather input from residents and businesses on various topics, such as how to address downtown parking issues or brainstorming ideas to revamp a City park. To find out about these events, look up “municipal meetings” on our Calendar of Events.

Boards and Commissions
Residents can serve on any of the City’s nine Boards and Commissions. City Council appoints members to each as vacancies exist.

City Bikeways and Pedestrian Committee
As an extension of the Public Works Commission, the City Bikeways and Pedestrian Committee is comprised of citizens and City employees dedicated to the safety and enjoyment of pedestrians and bicyclists.
